The melanin in dark skin types is usually more sensitive to heat used in laser treatments – causing damage and discomfort. However, our laser treatments are proven to be safe on all skin types, including dark skin.

While results vary, many people enjoy hair reduction for several months or even years after their treatment. However, laser hair removal doesn’t guarantee permanent hair loss. When hair regrows, it tends to be finer and lighter in color. For long-term results, we recommend 1-2 maintenance sessions annually.

Before the Treatment:

• The treatment area should be clean-shaven. If not, additional charges may apply, and session time could be reduced.
• Avoid significant sun exposure (or tanning) for 7 days before treatment.
• If you’re sunburned, wait at least 2 weeks before scheduling your treatment.
• Exfoliate the area to remove any residual tan or sunless tanning products.
• Arrive with clean skin—this includes cleansing the entire face if you’re treating the face or neck.

After the Treatment:

• Wear loose, comfortable clothing to prevent irritation.
• Avoid touching the treated area.
• Apply 100% Aloe Vera to soothe the skin.
• Skip intense physical activity, saunas, and swimming for at least 24 hours.
• When showering, keep water lukewarm.
• Use SPF50+ sunscreen on exposed treatment areas.

In Between Sessions:

• Exfoliate the skin gently 4-5 days after treatment to promote healthy skin regeneration.
• Shaving and using hair removal creams are the only acceptable methods of hair removal between sessions.
• Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds throughout the treatment period, and always apply SPF50+ sunscreen to exposed areas.
• Stop using tanning products on the treated areas at least 7 days before your next session.

Laser hair removal is generally safe and has minimal side effects. Some people may experience temporary redness or swelling in the treated area, which usually fades within a few hours. Rare side effects can include blistering, scarring, or changes in skin pigmentation, particularly if the skin is overexposed to the sun before or after treatment.
